Fresh Eyes See

4/28/2014

Picture
One looks out and sees a dreary day with trees blocking the view and a world of inconsiderate people that have nothing better to do than mar the concrete with graffiti - and another looks out and sees directly, freshly.

One judges and then feels a sense of disharmony within and without and another in openness senses only harmony.

When all judgment is dropped and life now is sensed directly, the subtle sense of ‘all is well’ may not initially register as anything significant but if you earnestly remain more interested in that than in what your thoughts have to say you will be amazed at what you discover.

One Indivisible Whole

4/24/2014

If peace is here now then why doesn’t everyone realize it?

Although the ocean is one indivisible whole - depth, waves, ripples - consider how it would be if a wave imagines itself to be separate and if life is actually so allowing that each wave is able to experience exactly what it now believes itself to be.

It is only when we see beyond belief that we discover what actually is. Beliefs, which are culturally conditioned ways of thinking, only obscure Reality - that which is universally unconditioned.

Fear Comes From Misperception

4/21/2014

There is no need to try and get rid of fear.

If we experience fear because we mistake a rope for a snake we don't need to work on getting rid of the fear. The fear dissolves naturally when we no longer misperceive what actually is.

Psychological fear or anxiety comes from a misperception of what actually is - reality is not at all frightening or dissatisfying.

When we misperceive reality or what we are as fragmented and separate, we then feel that misperception as a sense of fear or discontent.

Thankfully, we have a built in GPS that consistently lets us know immediately
when we have misperceived what is. Any sense of inner conflict is an indication of misperception and an opportunity to look again - directly.

Statements such as "There is no separation - we are all one" pop up in songs, movies, books and in conversations about life, spirituality or quantum physics - but rarely do those who voice these statements really consider how truly knowing that would impact their experience. And rarely do those who voice these statements seek to discover directly the truth of no separation.

Fear is Not Natural

4/18/2014

Fear causes us to do some strange things - unnatural things.

It can cause us to say and do things that we later wonder why in the world we said and did them.

But how can we not be afraid when we believe we are what our thoughts tell us we are?

If we believe we are these vulnerable beings who are dependent on others for their sense of well being, then fear seems valid - and actions motivated by fear justified.

But what if we are actually not these vulnerable, needy beings our thoughts tell us we are? What if our true sense of well being is not dependent on anything at all?

Imagine how different your experience here would be without fear -

and then imagine how different the world would be without fear.

Happiness is the Truth

4/16/2014

Why is it that so many are drawn to
Pharrell Williams Happy video?

As wonderful as the singing and dancing are, I say we are drawn to it because we somehow know that happiness - or peace - IS the truth.

Some say to seek inner peace or happiness is selfish - but when you watch this video and consider what life on earth would be like if we all really knew happiness then all question of the search being selfish dissolves.

It is not at all selfish to seek the truth of who we are.

It is only when we discover the truth of who we are that we know the truth of who all others are - and when we all know that then strife between family members and war between countries is not possible.

We Are Here to Enjoy Life

4/15/2014

We're not here to endure life but to actually enjoy it - to be at peace and to live in peace.

But to be at peace and live in peace we must know peace.

For awhile we think peace has to be created, so we try our best to cause it to come into being.

But if it has to be created then it also has to be maintained because whatever is created has to be maintained.
And if peace has to be maintained then peaceful living is not possible.

But what if, peace, our natural state, does not have to be created? What if it only needs to be discovered?

What joy there is when we finally realize the truth of what we are.

It is all very simple. Instead of seeing things imagined, learn to see them as they are. When you can see everything as it is, you will also see yourself as you are. It is like cleansing a mirror. The same mirror that shows you the world as it is, will also show you your own face."
      Sri Nisargadatta     Maharaj

      Einstein said,
    "No problem can be solved
      from the same
       level of consciousness
           that created it."

    To see new solutions
       we must see differently.
